Maintaining good relations with employees is critical to business success.  We make the complexities of employment law simple for our clients.

We advise a full range of employers, from owner-operators, to nationally-recognised businesses and NZX-listed companies.  We also act for senior executives and managers of SMEs and large companies.

We advise our clients on all aspects of the employment relationship and health and safety matters, finding legal solutions that are business-focused so that our clients can mitigate their risks and make good business decisions.  

We provide commercially-focused contentious and non-contentious employment related services, including:

  • Advisory work on all aspects of recruitment, drafting and negotiating individual employment agreements, independent contracting arrangements, day-to-day employee relations and HR matters, including dismissals, restructures, redundancies, health and safety matters, employee performance problems, misconduct issues, harassment/discrimination complaints and investigations.
  • Supporting corporate governance matters, and boardroom and senior executive issues.
  • Guidance and representation when employers are faced with claims brought by employees. Our main aim is to help our clients stay out of court, but when that can't be avoided we advise on personal grievance issues, mediation, MBIE investigations/proceedings, WorkSafe investigations/prosecutions and claims brought in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.
  • All employment aspects of business sales and mergers and acquisitions as well as insourcing, outsourcing and subsequent contracting arrangements.
