Lowndes Jordan elevates Dasha Kovalenko-Gormack to Partner

AUCKLAND – September 2025 – Corporate and commercial law firm Lowndes Jordan has elevated Dasha Kovalenko-Gormack to Partner. Formerly a Senior Associate with the firm, she will lead the firm’s property team.

Dasha brings with her over a decade of experience in property, private client and commercial law, including notable in-house legal experience acquired during secondment roles. Dasha advises clients on the acquisition, development (including subdivision) and sale of residential and commercial property, and on commercial leasing. She also provides specialised property due diligence advice in an M&A context and liquidation sales support in connection within solvency and restructuring matters.

Dasha is used to working closely with a range of professionals, including accountants, planners and surveyors, collaborating to build a strong team around her clients to manage their complex matters efficiently and effectively.

Although specialising in property law, Dasha is no stranger to dealing adeptly with a wide variety of legal issues. Delivering the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 to Auckland was a career highlight for Dasha that saw her support her client to overcome many challenging issues and brought her into close contact with passionate, driven and talented people in the sporting sector.

Dasha provides expert guidance to clients by combining first class technical legal skills with a considered, solutions-based approach. This aligns well with Lowndes Jordan’s philosophy of delivering elegant solutions. Dasha’s ability to achieve positive results for clients, quickly and accurately, while maintaining and strengthening trusted advisor relationships, were key reasons for Lowndes Jordan providing her a path to partnership within just six months of her start date with the firm.

Reflecting on the path ahead, Dasha says: “I feel privileged to step into this new role and to continue building on the strong relationships we have with our clients. I look forward to contributing to the future of the property practice by delivering our valued clients tailored, practical solutions”. Confident in her decision to assume the role of partner at Lowndes Jordan, Dasha states:  “The partnership at Lowndes Jordan is built on strong relationships and is diverse in its legal disciplines. The depth and breadth of capabilities here (everything from property to corporate/commercial to IP to litigation to insolvency) is impressive. That, along with the collegial culture of the firm, ultimately made joining this team as partner an easy decision for me.”

Strength in property law

Lowndes Jordan is known for providing clients with highly personalised bespoke services, particularly in the property space where the firm has built a reputation for solving challenging problems.

Dasha sees her appointment as an opportunity to strengthen Lowndes Jordan’s capability in a burgeoning practice area. “I’m committed to building on the firm’s strategic and commercial focus for growth of this practice area by providing our clients pragmatic, results-driven advice on complex property matters and supporting them through important transactions that shape their businesses and investments.”

General Manager David White says Kovalenko-Gormack's appointment ensures the expansion of a growing property team that continues to make its mark in advising on major property developments and key property transactions across the country.

“Property is one of the cornerstones of New Zealand’s economy, driving growth, investment and long-term value,” says White. “Having a strong property practice led by a lawyer of Dasha’s high calibre will deliver real value for both our clients and the firm.”
