Privacy in the Age of Big Data

Having been inveigled into speaking at the Privacy Week conference by Assistant Privacy Commissioner, Katrine Evans, I was unprepared for the fact that I'd be sharing the podium with Bruce Schneier, one of the world's foremost privacy and security experts.  I did my best!

Here is my talk split into two parts.  In the first part I talk about the danger in big data destroying the very valuable right to interact on the internet anonymously (on which I'll post more shortly).

In the second part, I talk about how big data aggegates to create a profile for each of us.  This places us in an echo chamber or filter bubble that is not obvious to us and from which it is difficult to escape.
